Serena has been an inspiration to so many of us here at PULSE House. So much of how she conducts herself speaks to the PULSE House core principles of innovation, inclusion and heart. She has fought against difficult odds, encountered setbacks, changed the game and blazed trails.
Not only do we fan out hard over Serena’s athletic feats, we are also beginning to highlight the importance of loving the skin you’re in and as the 2019 Wimbledon Championships wrap up, we are reminded of this powerful open letter Serena penned to her mother last year in which she says: “It has been said I don’t belong in Women’s sports — that I belong in Men’s — because I look stronger than many other women do. (No. I just work hard and I was born with this badass body and proud of it)."
That is GRIT ELEVATED. That is owning your body. That is appreciating that you are an unrepeatable miracle. That is what we create at PULSE House, a community that celebrates badass bodies, unapologetically.
